If a tree falls in the forest... is a two part sound installation using environmental sound.
Part I : A participatatory public sound installation in which the entire exhibit was documented by audio, photographs and video.
Part II : The documentation was then compiled into a moving symbol using a traditional Hindu mandala representing a community. The new symbol is an abstraction of the installations environment and activity.
