Game Design Lecture

by Chris

Last night Philadelphia University hosted a game design lecture featuring Cipher Prime and Final Form Games studios. Both firms are pretty small (~3 people each) yet have produced pretty incredible work and spoke about how they have transformed into what they are today. There were interesting dialogue about why game design impacts society, the direction of gaming, and most of all the passion that these game developers have towards following what they love most. Cipher Prime released it’s award winning Auditorium early 2009 and are in the final stages of releasing Fractal, excited to get a shot at playing this. Final Form Games is also near completion of a shooter with perhaps the best/unique concept for a story I’ve heard in awhile. Make sure to check out both these companies, they love what they do and I’m pretty certain you will too.

Site is up and running…sort of…

by Chris

So during this semester’s Spring Break I decided it would be a good time to start producing my personal website. Unfortunately, time is not on my side at this point trying to put as much effort as I can for class projects, learning new languages, exploring software and staying sane. Because of this, I’ve decided it would be best to get a temporary site up until I am able to fully flush out my ideas and design a great site. I’ve chosen the Titan theme from The Theme Foundry, a great looking theme. I will spend a little time customizing it but this is merely a place holder until future notice.
